..."This is an unsolicited testimonial motivated by the successful, lasting outcome of my 18 year old daughter A's painful case of TMJ.
When A was three years old, she sustained an injury to her upper jaw, teeth and gums from a fall. She healed and we moved on. But, over the course of her young life, she suffered many migraines headaches, and complained of upper back pain, which we did not associate with her pre-school accident. When she was 18, she developed a painful case of TMJ popping, clicking, and pain when chewing, and increasingly limited ability to open her mouth wide enough to bite a sandwich.
We took her to her pediatric dentist, who said to take her to her orthodontist, whoc said to take her to an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon said he could do surgery, and it might help, but there was a chance of some serious side effects. He didn't seem too encouraging. On the way home from that consultation, I drove by St. Charles Family Dentistry , and rememebered the TMJ Therapy on their sign. My husband had been going to the Lipskis' practice for many years, and gave a "thumbs up" as to their quality of care.
...Dr. Lipskis' treatment methods were non-surgical, non-invasive, and non-pharmaceutical, involving oral appliances and exercise.
A is now 20 years old, and jaw, migraine and back-pain free. She will continue to wear the appliances when she sleeps to prevent re-injury to the joint, and that's OK, because they took the place of her orthodontic retainer.
Thank you Dr. Lynn Lipskis! I would be glad to tell anyone, anytime to try your treatment first."
